Samuel Patrick Robert Long. Bicester boy, born in Oxford, centre back or right back. Captain of the under-18s that finished second in the South-West Youth Alliance League in 2012/13, Sam signed a professional contract in May 2013. Went on a six-week loan to Kidderminster on 20th November 2014 but didn't play. Joined Hampton & Richmond Borough on a one-month loan on 19th January 2018, later extended for a further month. Signed a new one-year deal on 4th June 2018 and signed a further one-year extension on 25th February 2019. Long signed a new two-year deal on 23rd June 2020 and a new three-year deal on 12th April 2021. Was voted the Players' Player of the Year and Supporters' Player of the Year for the 2020/21 season. Signed a new three-year deal on 16 February 2023 and further extended his contract in May 2025. He signed another new contract on 31st March 2026.
